Last Week: Artist Conversation Hyeri Kim

One of the galleries that stood out for me this week was Kim’s “His Extravagant Proposal”. In her exhibit Kim displayed beautiful works of metal used to symbolize the love that she has received from God. Her goal is to love others in the selfless and complete way that God loves her. This particular exhibit focused on the love between a marriage.
I enjoy that I don’t necessarily have to be a believer myself in either God or marriage to see the strength of Kim’s faith reflected in her work. To me the works of metal were both intricate yet simple, durable but fragile. I also attach these contradicting descriptions to the experience of loving someone. Both metal and love, however, should be long lasting and durable.
